Joel Grade, who joined Sysco Canada three years ago, was promoted from chief financial officer to the president’s office in July, taking over from Kent Humphries, who is now CEO of Sysco Canada as well as senior vice-president contract sales for U.S.-based Sysco Corporation.
In his V-P role with the Sysco, Humphries is in charge of building chain business both in North America and other parts of the world.
Besides taking on the role of president of the Canadian operations, Grade has also assumed the post of vice-president of foodservice operations for Sysco Corporation.
Grade is in charge of day-to-day operations of Sysco Canada, while continuing to work with Humphries in building chain business.
“He and I are working very closely together,” Grade told Restaurant News. He said this is a continuation of three years of close collaboration between himself and Humphries.
